Inserting Callouts (Marker Text)

Use the Callout command to place boxed mark-up text in drawings with an arrow pointing to an object or location in the drawing.

The size of callouts is not fixed and is related to the visible screen area. Callout are blocks that are placed on the current layer and always appear in red.

Note: Callouts are used to temporarily redline issues in the graphics area. Use Leaders and SmartLeaders to insert annotations as permanent parts of the drawing.

To insert a callout:

  1. Type Callout at the command prompt.
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. In the dialog box, type a marker text.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Specify the start point of the leader for the arrow location.
  6. Specify the end point of the leader for the position of the marker text.

    The callout appears in the graphics area.
