Setting-up Automated Comparison Jobs

Use the DWG Drawing Compare job to visually compare two drawings and automatically detect differences.

You can compare older revisions against the latest revision of a drawing or two similar drawings. The command identifies and highlights the differences where entities have been added, deleted, or modified.

The comparison result is displayed in a separate drawing, in the specified location.

To schedule an automated comparison job:

  1. On the title bar, click your account name.
  2. Select Drawings Automation from the menu.

    The Drawings Automation Jobs screen opens in your web browser.

  3. Click New Job.
  4. In the New Job window, select DWG Drawing Compare.
  5. In Parameters, specify the files to compare:
  6. To specify the files to compare, do the following:
    1. Click First file. and specify the DWG file.
    2. Click File to compare and specify the second file.
  7. To specify where to store the comparison result, do the following:
    1. Click Select output location.
    2. Navigate to the target folder.
    3. Click OK.
  8. Specify when to start the job:
  9. Optionally, enable Send notifications to e-mail to receive a message when the job is completed.
  10. Click Start.

    The job appears in the list.
