Setting-up Automated Export to PDF
Exporting drawings to the PDF format allows viewing drawings on different platforms.
As PDF is a neutral file formats, you can use it to easily exchange drawings with customers, suppliers, collaborators, and colleagues. Everyone can open the file, review an add notes and remarks without affecting the drawing entities.
Use the DWG to PDF job to export one ore more than one DWG files to the PDF format.
When exporting to PDF, it is necessary to specify the paper size.
To export DWG files to PDF using an automatic job:
- On the title bar, click your account name.
- Select Drawings Automation from the menu.
The Drawings Automation Jobs screen opens in your web browser.
- Click New Job.
- In the New Job window, select DWG Export.
- To specify the files to export, do the following:
- Click Select files from cloud storage.
- In the Choose a drawing dialog box, navigate to the folder that stores the files to export to PDF.
- Select the files to export.
- Click OK.
- To specify where to store the PDF files, do the following:
- Click Select output location.
- Navigate to the target folder.
- Click OK.
- In Parameters, do the following settings:
- In Output name, specify the job name.
- In Export to, specify a standard format from the list of paper sizes.
- Specify when to start the job:
- One-time job. The job starts immediatelly after closing the dialog box.
- Scheduled. The job starts at a specified date and time.
- Recurring. The job starts at the specified date and time and repeats at regular intervals.
- Optionally, enable Send notifications to e-mail to receive a message when the job is completed.
- Click Start.
The job appears in the list.
