Sharing Files and Folders with Specified Users

You can share your project content and collaborate with your colleagues. When sharing your files or folders with other users you must specify their permissions. You can change the permissions you have assigned to other users at any time.

Note: You cannot share folders from the default cloud storage.

All users can display the list of users that can access a drawing and their permissions.

Permissions  
Edit Specified users can:
  • Make changes
  • Set permissions for other users
  • Make the document publicly available
View Specified users can open a drawing but cannot change it.

Note: Each drawing has an owner. By default, the author of the drawing is the owner and has Edit permission.

To share a file with a specified user:

  1. In the Cloud Storage Explorer, click your account name under the Cloud Storage service.
  2. On the Cloud Storage palette, select a Cloud Storage.
  3. Right-click the file to share and select Permissions.
  4. Do one of the following:

     To share the current drawing, click Share this file on the title bar.

  5. In the dialog box, on the tab coresponding to the Cloud Storage where the drawing is stored, do the following:
  6. Click Add.

    The specified user appears in the list.

  7. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add other users. You can add as many users as it is necessary.

    Specified users receive an email with a link to the shared file. The user must login to the application to access the file.

      To share multiple files at once, group them in a folder.

To share a folder:

  1. In the Cloud Storage Explorer, click your account name under the Cloud Storage service.

To display the list of users and their permissions:

  1. In the Cloud Storage Explorer, click your account name under the Cloud Storage service.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click a file or a folder and select Permissions.
    • Click Permissions for the desired file or folder.

    The dialog box displays the list of users that can access the drawing and their permissions.

To remove permissions from a user:

  1. In the Cloud Storage Explorer, click your account name under the Cloud Storage service.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click the file or the folder and select Permissions.
    • Click Permissions for the desired file or folder.
  3. In the dialog box, in the users list, click Unshare  for the user for whose permission you want to remove.

To change permissions assigned to a user:

  1. In the Cloud Storage Explorer, click your account name under the Cloud Storage service.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Right-click the file or the folder and select Permissions.
    • Click Permissions for the desired file or folder.
  3. In the dialog box, in the users list, select another permission from the drop-down list.
  4. Click Update .
