Detaching Referenced Drawings

The DetachDrawing command lets you detach Referenced drawings that were attached to the current drawing with the AttachDrawing command.

Note: Although you can erase References with the Delete command, use the DetachDrawing command to remove the dependent symbols from the drawing file, as well.

To detach Referenced drawings:

  1. Type DetachDrawing at the command prompt.
  2. Type the name of the drawing to detach.

The names of the References attached to the drawing are listed in the References palette. You can delete the selected Referenced drawing by right-clicking the name and selecting Detach from the context menu.
