Constructing Polygons

A polygon is a closed linear PolyLine entity consisting of 3 to 1024 equal length sides.

Use the Polygon command to draw polygons using the following methods:

To construct inscribed polygons:

  1. Click Draw > Polygon (or type Polygon).
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. Type the number of sides.
  4. In the graphics area, specify the center of the polygon.
  5. Specify the Corner option.
  6. Specify a point in the graphics area to define the radius or type a value for the radius.

To construct circumscribed polygons:

  1. Click Draw > Polygon (or type Polygon).
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. Type the number of sides.
  4. In the graphics area, specify the center of the polygon.
  5. Specify the Side option.
  6. Specify a point in the graphics area to define the radius or type a value for the radius.

To construct polygons by defining an edge:

  1. Click Draw > Polygon (or type Polygon).
  2. Do one of the following:
  3. Type the number of sides.
  4. Specify the Side length option to define an edge of the polygon.
  5. Specify the edge start point and side length.
