Working with Referenced Drawings

Use Referenced drawings to:

• Create assembly drawings from different files.
• Insert detail drawings into finished drawings.
• Temporarily reference another drawing in the current drawing.

The References palette displays the list of Referenced drawings. The palette contains two groups:

• Referenced Files. Displays the list of References from the current drawing.
• File Information. Displays the Reference type and the path.

When you open a drawing with Referenced files, the References display in the current states. When collaborating over a network, you might need to update the References. The program reloads the specified drawings in the most recently saved states.

  Selecting a file name in the References palette, highlights the corresponding entities in the graphics area.

To display the References palette:

1. On the status bar, click .
2. Enable References.

   The References palette appears .

To close the References palette:

• On the References palette title bar, click .

To update References list:

• On the References palette, click Refresh to redraw the References.
