Identifying Coordinates

Use the Coordinates tool to determine the coordinates of a point.

Use the GetXY command to determine the coordinates of a point.

GetXY can be used as a transparent command.

To identify the coordinates of a point:

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. On the toolbar, click (or press and hold the left mouse button) and select Coordinates .
  3. In the graphics area, select the point to identify.

    The coordinates display in the command window.

    You can use EntitySnaps to specify points on existing entities.

    A message window displays the coordinates.

  4. Click OK.

  If the point you want to determine is geometrically significant, for example, a start or end point of a drawing entity, use EntitySnaps.

  The tool snaps to points that are geometrically significant, for example, a start or end point of a drawing entity.
