Defining Block Libraries

You can define your own Block libraries in addition to the predefined ones.

The workflow for defining a custom Block library includes the following steps:

  1. Save your Block definitions in separate drawings.
  2. Create a Block library.
  3. Upload the drawings to the Block library.

Once you have created a Block library, you can use it in the application. If necessary, you can share it with your colleagues.

To create a Block library:

Note: Before starting, make sure you have saved your Block definitions in separate drawings.

  1. On the Block Library palette, click .

    The Block Library Manager opens in a web browser window. The available Block libraries are listed under Block library.

  2. Click Create new Block library .
  3. In the Create new Block library dialog box, specify the name of the Block library.
  4. To make the Block library available for all your colleagues, enable Is organization library.
  5. Click Create.

    The Block library appears in the list. You can add Blocks.

To add Blocks to a block library:

Note: You can add Blocks only to the Block libraries that you have created.

  1. On the Block Library palette, click Open Block Library .

    The Block Library Manager opens in a web browser window.

  2. Under Block library, click the Block library in which you want to add Blocks.
  3. Click Upload New Block .
  4. Navigate to the folder where you have stored your Blocks.
  5. Select the drawings in which you saved the Block definitions and click Open.

    The drawings appear in the list and will be available in the Block Library palette when loading the Block library.
