Applying Entity Properties

Entity properties include Layer, LineColor, LineStyle, LineWeight, and transparency.

These characteristics are automatically associated with drawing entities when the drawing is created. Newly created entities automatically use the current properties defined in the drawing. For example, if you set the Layer to Lines, all entities that you create will be on the Lines Layer.

At any moment, you can change the properties of existing entities.

To set properties for new entities:

• Use commands to set entity properties:
  • Layer
  • LineColor
  • LineStyle
  • LineWeight
• Use the Layers, Layer Tools, and theProperties palette to set the properties that new entities adopt.

To change an entity's properties:

• Select an entity in the graphics area and use the:
  • Properties Palette
  • Layers
  • Layer Tools
