Managing Drawings Versions

You can display previous versions of the current drawing or of a specified one.

The Manage versions dialog box lists the previously saved versions of each drawing maintained by a supported Cloud Storage.

You can do the following:

To display the versions of a specified drawing:

  1. In the Cloud Storage Explorer, click your account name under the desired Cloud Storage service.
  2. Navigate to the folder containg your drawings.
  3. Right-click a drawing and select Manage versions from the context menu.

    The Manage versions dialog box displays the list of available drawing versions.

  4. Use the flyouts on the top-right side of the dialog box for filtering the list:
  5. Use the buttons at the top of the dialog box for managing the previous version of the drawing:
    Button Description
    Deletes the specified version
    Saves the specified version as a new drawing
    Lets you upload a new drawing version. You can upload new versions only for drawings for which you have editing rights.

    Note: All previous version of the drawing have the same name. When you upload a new version, the application renames the drawing.

  6. The two buttons at the bottom of the dialog box let you do the following:

To display previous versions of the current drawing, click Manage versions on the title bar, or type VersionHistory at the command prompt.

To define a name for a version of the current drawing:

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Select the version to rename and click Create name.
  3. In the editing field, type the name of the version and click .

To modify the name of a version, click the name and click Edit name to switch to editing mode.

To compare a specified version with the current version of the drawing:

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Click next to Compare and select Compare to active version.
  3. Select the version to compare and click Compare.

    The graphics area displays the comparison result. You can export the comparison result as a separate drawing.

  4. From the Drawing Compare palette, you can:
  5. If necessary, export the comparison result as a separate drawing.

To compare two specified versions of the current drawing:

  1. Do one of the following:
  2. Click next to Compare and select Compare selected versions.
  3. Select two versions to compare and click Compare.

    The graphics area displays the comparison result. You can export the comparison result as a separate drawing.

  4. From the Drawing Compare palette, you can:
  5. If necessary, export the comparison result as a separate drawing.
